
NO experience working with glass. ALL supplies are provided – participants will use scrap glass; if larger pieces of glass are desired, that will cost extra. Participants will receive a 10% discount on any supplies purchased during the class. Up to 4 participants per class. Classes will be about 2 hours long for 3 weeks – some foiling may need to be done at home if necessary. Project will be 10 pieces or less – 4 or 5 choices: patchwork heart, abstract circle, butterfly, square horizon, or a seasonal suncatcher. More information may be available in the registration link.

Class fees are non-refundable. However, in the event of mandatory closure beyond my control, classes may be rescheduled or a gift certificate may be issued for the value of the class.

How to sign up for workshops:
Due to the menu style of these workshops, registration will not be available online. Workshops will generally be the second Saturday of the month. Dates are listed above. Most workshops are limited to a maximum of 4 people with no minimum.
1) Determine what workshop you are interested. Descriptions below include cost (all supplies are included for most workshops), time frame, and any additional expenses or items needed.
2) Select at least 2 dates that will work for you. If you do not see a date that works for you please call, text or email Jean to see what other days and times are available (Sundays and Mondays are NOT available).
3) Call, text, email, or stop in the store to talk to Jean about your choices. If there are no conflicts, Jean will provide you with payment options.
Children as young as 9 years old may participate in workshops as long as a parent or guardian is present with them. Parent/guardian is not required to pay for the workshop if they are just observing.
Foil & Solder Suncatchers:
(aka – Tiffany style)
Create your own unique suncatcher with the foil and solder technique. Participants will cut approximately 5 pieces of glass, grind them, then learn to work with copper foil and solder, and take home a colorful suncatcher.
Up to 4 participants.
Cost: $80 each.
Time – 4 hours: 12:30-4:30pm
Please plan meals before or after the workshop, no food is allowed in the work area. Water bottles are acceptable.
Patterns available for this style of glass workshop include:

It is recommended that all participants on a given date work on the same pattern. A variety of glass option are available so individual suncatchers will be unique.
Fused glass Workshops:
Fused glass projects will be put together by participants during the workshop, fused in the kiln by staff on a future date, then participants will pick them up in store within 1 month following the workshop. Each workshop will include discussion of key elements of glass fusing such as compatibility of different glasses; the heating, annealing, and cooling of kiln-fired glass; the use of kiln wash, shelf primer, or kiln paper; mold use; accessory glass for fusing such as strings, rods, and frit; and more. The kiln will not be in operation when the outdoor temperature is over 60oF, so these workshops are best done during cooler months of the year.
Fused Glass Plate
The finished plate will be 8”x8” square with rounded corners. The design on the plate is only limited by the glass and accessory glass available and participants imagination.

Fused Glass Tattoo TM This is a technique using powdered glass and stencils to create designs on a sheet of glass which may be slumped to an 8”x 8” plate.
Fused Glass Heart
Starting with a 6” wide opaque pink glass heart, participants will use scrap glass and accessory glass to decorate a 6x5” heart-shaped plate. If desired, the piece may be slumped to create a heart-shaped dish. Slumping will require an additional firing and will cost $10 for mold use and extra firing.

Fused Glass Jewelry
Participants will use fusible glass to prepare pieces for the kiln. Staff will attach selected findings after firing the items in the kiln. Participants will make 4 to 6 pieces. Possible items to make include: pendants, brooches, magnets, book marks, rings, earrings, bobby pins, tie clips and hair clips.

Fused Glass Snowman
The finished Snowman will be a rectangle approximately 3” tall. These may be made as ornaments, magnets, or wearable pendants or brooches.

Lead Panel Workshop
This workshop will take participants through the processing of building a 9 ½” x 11 ½” rectangle panel: cutting and fitting glass and lead, soldering, cementing, and finishing with zinc came. Some experience cutting glass & soldering is recommended.
Bring a lunch or plan for a break to purchase lunch at a nearby restaurant.
Up to 3 participants.
Cost: $120 each.
Time – 6 hours: 11am-5pm – a break for lunch will be allowed. Since this a longer workshop, it may be split up over 2 sessions with instructor’s approval.
Lead & Bevel Snowflake
Hobby lead came, beveled glass, wire curly Qs, and cut glass will be used to make this popular finished item. No experience is necessary.

Lead & Bevel Angel Ornament
This small angel is made with a brass halo, a facetted jewel, a clear bevel, cut glass, and hobby lead came. No experience is necessary.

Glass Mosaic Workshops:
This is a technique of gluing glass fragments to a glass base (bring your own for a $5 discount off the workshop cost) then grouting to fill in between the glass fragments. When scheduling either of these workshops, please speak to Jean about what designs you might be interested in. These workshops may be split into 2 sessions to allow glue to dry before grouting – that is optional.
Mosaic Vase or Votive holder
A candle jars (votive) or glass bottles (vase) will be used as the glass base.

Mosaic Picture
An 8x10” or 5x7” glass base will be the starting point for a design only limited by imagination and glass.
